Kids Day America
2006
Our office hosted Kids Day America for the city of Westbrook, which is an international health, safety and environmental awareness day for children. This event took place on May 20th, in hundreds of cities on the same day, at the same time, throughout the world. The Mayor proclaimed it an official day to help children. The local law enforcement and fire department provided safety information and child fingerprinting. We also had other programs available, such as car seat safety, bicycle safety, poison prevention, and railroad safety. There was free health and spinal screenings, oral health instruction and environmental information. The event was free to the whole community, benefitting Mission Possible Teen Center and The Children's Wellness Foundation. There was free food, prizes, characters, balloons, crafts, face-painting and fun for all!
We are already starting to plan next years event which will take place on May 19, 2007. We are excited for Kids Day America 2007 as it will be bigger and better than the years past!
